Metoprolol is used to treat angina (chest pain) and hypertension (high blood pressure).
Metoprolol is also used to lower your risk of death or needing to be hospitalized for heart failure.
Indications of Lopresor:
• Lower high blood pressure (hypertension).
• Angina (chest pain).
• After a heart attack.
Points of interest of Lopresor:
• Metoprolol Tartrate tablets may make you feel tired and dizzy. If affected, patients should not drive or operate machinery.
• Metoprolol Tartrate tablets are not recommended during pregnancy or breast-feeding.

How to use Lopresor:
Adults:
High blood pressure: 50 mg to 200mg each day, either as a single dose or divided into two doses.
Angina: 100 mg to 300 mg each day, divided into two or three doses.
Irregular heartbeats: 50mg two or three times daily. The dose may be increased to 300mg daily in divided doses.
After a heart attack: 200 mg each day, divided into two doses.
To prevent migraine: 100 mg to 150 mg each day, divided into two doses (morning and evening).
Pediatric: Not recommended only if the physician prescribe it.
