The active component of the capsules is omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses the production of stomach acid.
The capsules treat ulcers, including duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and ulcers brought on by taking certain drugs, by lowering the amount of acid the stomach produces.
